Quay Walls

This piece was created by my partner in our joint creative space – The Garret. The arrangement of working from within the same walls with eachother seems to work well for us. If I’m stuck with a problem and can’t seem to find a way around it, or if I need to bounce ideas around with someone else, all I have to do is walk down the hall and find him at his desk, working away, being creative on his own terms.
Before moving to the tenement (where we met) I had never seen or heard of Jimmy or his artwork. I had not been in town too long and was still finding my way around. It’s amazing that we both have an appreciation for Edinburgh artchitecture (although the piece above is of Berwick), zingy colours or at least interesting combinations of colour and a willingness to combine the two fascinations.
We have collaborated on projects before. There is a collaboration in progress, one that we will know the outcome of in late September. I’ll report back.
